Most kids don’t need treatment right away, but early visits allow us to monitor their growth and intervene at the perfect time if needed. When early treatment is recommended, we use gentle, strategic approaches designed to support natural development—not rush it.
How Early Treatment Works
When your child visits Lakewood Orthodontics, we’ll take photos and digital scans to assess how their teeth and jaws are developing. This process is quick, comfortable, and totally needle-free.
Dr. Ravi may recommend a phase I treatment plan that lasts eight to 12 months and focuses on guiding growth—not straightening every tooth. Afterward, most kids enter a resting phase while we monitor their progress.
If more movement is needed as permanent teeth come in, we’ll begin a customized phase II treatment with braces or aligners during the pre-teen or teen years.
